AVADSC - AUSTRALIAN VETERANS AND DEFENCE SERVICES COUNCIL - AGM AND DINNER (PHOTOS) - 2 MARCH 2009

The Minister for Veterans' Affairs The Hon. Alan Griffin, MP accompanied by the members of the Repatriation Commission and other Senior officers from his department, addressed and opened the Annual General meeting of AVADSC on Monday 2 March 2009.

Rear Admiral Ian Crawford the Chairman of AVADSC contributed significantly to the smooth proceedings which covered a range of issues and focussed on the continuance of AVADSC.

The Naval Association's representatives at this meeting were Cec Williams and Rod Bain accompanied by the National President, Les Dwyer. Congratulations are extended to Rod on his re-election as Vice Chairman and to the other members who came forward accepting positions to ensure the continuation of AVADSC, particular Colin Doust who now wears several hats and is a tireless worker for the council.

The following recommendations were adopted:-

Following the meeting a dinner was held when it was acknowledged that Gary Collins had been appointed as Acting Deputy Chairman of the Repatriation Commission and that Jennifer Collins had taken over as the Acting NSW Deputy Commissioner for NSW.

It was pleasing to The Hon. Louise Markus, MP, Shadow Minister for Veterans' Affairs in attendance.
