HMAS PENGUIN'S COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM - BEAT TO QUARTERS AND COCKTAIL PARTY - THURSDAY 29 OCTOBER 2009

CMDR Michael Hickey, ADC, RAN - Commanding Officer of HMAS PENGUIN was rightly proud of the fine demonstration of marching and the performance of the RAN Band at the

Beat to Quarters ceremony held recently.

Many local dignitaries including the Mayor of Mosman and a range of community leaders were invited to this delightful evening which was without doubt a great success and helped

cement the already secure and comfortable relationship that HMAS PENGUIN has with the local community.

Magnificently catered with many compliments being passed regarding the quality and quantity of fine foods offered it was obvious that behind the scenes many people including

the XO, Katie Huff and LCDR Wayne Gobert together with the mess staff of the wardroom mess had been very busy to ensure that the evening ran so smoothly.

National President, Les Dwyer and National Vice President Jim O'Connor travelled from Queensland and were pleased to be invited, thoroughly enjoying themselves.  It was a

pleasure to see former NSW Section President Barry Spencer and Carolyn there also.

Some of the photographs from the evening are below:-
