THE END OF HMA SUBMARINE 'ORION'

This is a photo I took of HMAS ORION when she was placed on the hard at TENIX Shipyard, Henderson, WA on about 17 September, 2006

Just returned from WA where I took the following photos of ORION on 24 November 2006 before the last bits were carted off in a scrap metal truck.

The good news is that the WA Section of the NAA is attempting to have the fin mounted as a lasting memorial to this wonderful 'O' boat.  Let's hope that it happens and that some small part of this renowned submarine remains for us to remember her by.
