NAVY WEEK SE QLD - PORT VISIT TO BRISBANE BY HMA SHIPS NEWCASTLE AND CHILDERS - CIVIC RECEPTION BRISBANE TOWN HALL - PHOTOS

Brisbane was blessed with beautiful weather for the visit of HMA Ships NEWCASTLE and CHILDERS in support of Navy Week activities in SE Queensland.

The Lord Mayor of Brisbane hosted a civic reception for the visiting ships and members of the NAA and other guests.

A fine display of precision marching and drill by the Federation Guard was presented in Redacliff Place near the Brisbane Casino with a large number of the public being able to watch and admire our young naval personnel carrying out excellent drill and firing a volley of rounds that scared the pants off a few onlookers.

The ships were opened for visitors on the Saturday and reported lively interest by the local populace who came in droves to admire our 'Navy'

Congratulations to all who participated and particularly to CMDR Geof Fiedler and his staff for bringing it all together.
