AUSTRALIA POST REMOVED THE GOLD CARD BENEFITS FOR REDIRECTING MAIL
AND OTHER MATTERS...NOW TELSTRA WANTS YOU TO DECIDE WHETHER YOU
WANT TO GIVE UP YOUR PENSIONER DISCOUNT AND CONTINUE TO RECEIVE
TELSTRA REWARD OPTIONS.
THIS IS LOUSY. THE FORMS ARE LOUSY. THE WHOLE THING IS LOUSY.

MR JOHN ROLLAND - HE IS LOUSY, HE WON'T EVEN SPEAK WITH YOU. HE IS HAPPY
TO TAKE BENEFITS AWAY FROM YOU. BUT HE WON'T EVEN TALK TO YOU. I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH HIM 5 DAYS AGO. TELSTRA TOLD ME THEY WOULD RING BACK WITHIN 24 HOURS - THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED.
WHAT IS MORE, TELSTRA IS ATTEMPTING TO HAVE US BELIEVE THAT "WE ARE REVIEWING OUR RECORDS AND THEY INDICATE THAT YOU CURRENTLY RECEIVE THE BENEFIT OF BOTH THE TELSTRA PENSIONER DISCOUNT AND TELSTRA REWARD OPTIONS. UNDER OUR CUSTOMER TERMS, TELSTRA PENSIONER DISCOUNT CUSTOMERS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE CERTAIN OTHER DISCOUNTS FROM TELSTRA AND THIS INCLUDES TELSTRA REWARD OPTIONS."
HOW LOUSY CAN YOU BE? WE WERE ENTICED INTO USING THESE SERVICES AND TELSTRA NOW WANTS TO TAKE THEM AWAY AFTER GETTING US TO USE THEIR SERVICES BASED ON PREVIOUS ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS AND LETTERS ADVISING THESE BENEFITS ARE AVAILABLE TO US TOGETHER WITH THE PENSIONER DISCOUNTS.

BY THE WAY IF YOU DON'T RETURN THE FORM THEY SENT OUT THE WILL CANCEL YOUR PENSIONER DISCOUNT ANYWAY!

On Thursday 5 April, 2007 I rang Mr Jon Court (Telstra Public
Policy and Communications) who says TELSTRA has erroneously provided Pensioner
Discounts and Telstra Reward Options and that they are attempting to bring those
Pensioners into line. He was at great pains to tell me that not all
Pensioners are affected. Only those pensioners with Telstra Reward Options
and the Pensioner discount. I told him that Telstra Reward Options
have been gradually reduced and raised several matters that I have supporting
documentation to support, that show Telstra has been reducing benefits for
years. The bottom line of this is should you have both benefits and
forego the Pensioner benefit it will cost you $12.25 X 12 (months) = $147 extra
per year for your Telstra service. Should you elect to keep your Rewards
and use them appropriately the saving may be greater than the Pensioner benefit.
Mr Court is going to attempt to give me a comparative table of services /
charges. Will keep you posted.
