The Last Day of Summer - By Kenneth Sydney WALLACE

The Last Day of Summer is Ken's story of his survival of the sinking of HMAS PERTH on the night of 28 February 1942 in the Sunda Strait during WW2 and his safe return to his family and friends.  Of course there are some gripping descriptions of 6 metre sharks shadowing the flimsy boat that they were in attempting to evade patrolling Japanese around Sumatra and Java and other adventures.  Unfortunately he was caught and imprisoned for three years.
