SUBMARINES ASSOCIATION AUSTRALIA - QUEENSLAND.  CHRISTMAS FUNCTION AT BULIMBA - 3 DECEMBER 2006

A fabulous Christmas function was organised by members of the 'Silent Service' at Bulimba on the Brisbane River on Sunday 3 December.

A great time was had by all with heaps of food, laughter, grog and some special pussers issue submariners' rum that was brewed to a secret formula - possibly by Santa's helpers.

Santa had a lovely time, although he was advised to apply for a 'blue' card prior to his next appearance.

President Barry McKeown was hoarse and could not speak on the day but wished all members a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Rob Woolrych was in good voice and it was good to see (90 year-old) Patron George Hunt looking very healthy and fit.

National President of the NAA, Les Dwyer gave an update of submarine nature of service review for 'O' boat submariners and the latest developments, and wished everybody a magic Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Thanks to everybody for the organisation for a wonderful day.
