UNVEILING AND DEDICATION OF THE PINE RIVERS SUB SECTION MEMORIAL AT    THE ANCHORAGE & FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEDICATION OF THE NAVAL MEMORIAL AT CARRUTHERS PARK, KALLANGUR - SUNDAY 9 JULY 2006

Sunday, 9th July 2006, the birthday of the RAN, was selected as the date to unveil and dedicate the new 'small' anchor memorial at the Sub Section HQs. 

With the Sub Section Patron present, Mayor of Pine Rivers Shire, Cr. Yvonne Chapman and participation by many of our members and guests, an anniversary service was held at the Naval Memorial at Carruthers Park before everybody proceeded to the Anchorage to dedicate the new Pine Rivers Sub Section Memorial standing outside our headquarters.

The weather held and it was a beautiful day for this event that now permits the Sub Section to hold small commemorative services at the Anchorage when the need arises.

We remembered our members who have crossed the bar before us including our honorary members.

Following the dedication a most enjoyable BBQ and spread was held to mark the occasion.  The magnificent dedication cake was made by Wendy Dundas and was enjoyed by all.
