This modern building is a credit to the efforts of many dedicated shipmates of the Sub Section and the support of the local community - particularly Patron of the Sub Section, Councillor David Dwyer of Moreton Bay Shire Council and the former Mayor of Pine Rivers Shire Yvonne Chapman who was the previous Patron of the Sub Section.
The Sub Section is vibrant, participating at State Conference and attending all State Council-sponsored activities including barbeques and outings. A lively interchange of ideas occurs between shipmates and lots of social interaction is evident.
The Sub Section provides many facilities and services to members including Welfare and Pensions assistance. The Sub Section has several dedicated TIP-trained Welfare officers and a dedicated Advocate / Pensions Officer.

24 January 2011 - Presentation of Grant Cheque of $5,000 to purchase defibrillator for the Sub Section:-
Marvellous work by Andrea Quaile coupled with assistance from Patron David Dwyer resulted in the Sub Section receiving a grant of $5,000 to purchase a defibrillator to potentially save lives should this appliance be needed whilst functions are being undertaken at the Anchorage.
Congratulations were in order as Councillor David Dwyer presented the cheque to a very pleased Andrea and Sub Section President, Jeff Abrahams.
Getting off to a good start in 2011 - two new members were inducted at the meeting on Monday, 24 January - Reg Warren and Des Cooper. Congratulations to you both on becoming members of the premier Naval organisation for naval veterans - the Naval Association of Australia.
