Monthly General Meetings are held on the 4th Sunday of each month alternately at the Stanthorpe RSL Services Club, Marsh St, Stanthorpe and the Warwick RSL Services Club, Albion Street, Warwick.

Check with Secretary to determine place of meeting.  Meetings generally will start at 1300.

Lunch is available at the Services Club.

On 19th September, 2009 the newly formed Stanthorpe Sub-Section received its Charter from Qld Section President Patrick Ringold, at a celebration dinner held at the Stanthorpe RSL Services Club. 30 members and guests enjoyed a great meal and camaraderie with many a tale being spun.

Stanthorpe also known as the Granite Belt, well known for its fine wine, fruit and vegetables, is part of the Southern Downs of Qld and 56 kms from the Qld - NSW border.

Our members come from Tenterfield just over the border in NSW, north to Stanthorpe, Warwick, Allora and west to Inglewood in Qld.

An inaugural AGM was held at the Services Club on the same day at 1400 when Norm Gale was elected as President and Don Russell was elected as Secretary/Treasurer. Meetings will be held on the 4th Sunday of each month at the RSL Services Clubs alternately in Stanthorpe and Warwick.

Membership is increasing via the “bush telegraph” with many direct family of serving personnel interested in becoming associates.

Visitors from Australia wide are welcome, and contact can be made with

Stanthorpe Apple and Grape Festival, 5-7 March 2010.

The Navy Band came to Stanthorpe for the Apple and Grape Festival at our request and did a great job.  Andrew Stapleton CPOMUSN led the band as they led the rest of the parade down the Main Street of Stanthorpe.   It was a great sight to see them leading the massed bands.   At 5pm at the Stanthorpe RSL the band provided a 'Beat to Quarters' with the salute being taken by CMDR Don Forbes, RANR.

Sub Section President Norm Gale read the Ceremonial Sunset Program and everybody present enjoyed their performance.   At 6pm the Band provided a concert inside the club for about 2 hours which was extremely well received.  Congratulations to the RAN Queensland Detachment Band.  Well done!
